Arriving:

Getting There & Away

Routes and bus schedules change frequently due to road conditions, so always check locally a couple of days in advance to confirm times.

Arriving at La Portada:

San Andrés de Pisimbalá, Tierradento is a tiny village and you must pass La Portada Hospedaje & Restaurant to enter the village. (The restaurant and hotel are on opposite sides of the road.) The bus stop is about 30 meters from our door.

Bogotá:

From Bogotá one can take an overnight bus to La Plata, but most prefer to take the daytime bus that leaves about 8:00AM arriving in the town of Garzón about 4:00PM. Transfer to a bus to La Plata arriving there about 6:00PM. Overnight in La Plata (there are a number of hotels to choose from) and get an 8:30 or 10:30AM bus to San Andrés de Pisimbalá arriving 2 or 3 hours later. The reverse trip is easily done in one day leaving San Andrés de Pisimbalá at 6:00AM arriving in Bogotá about 5:00PM.

Cali / Popayán:

From Cali get a bus to Popayán about 3 hours and transfer to a bus directly to San Andrés de Pisimbalá about 4 ½ hours. Cali / Popayán buses leave about every ½ hour and there is one direct bus daily from Popayán to San Andrés de Pisimbalá leaving about 10:30AM. The reverse trip is the same, leaving at 6:00AM will get you to Cali about 1:00PM.

San Augustín:

From San Augustín take the 6:00AM bus to Bogotá, but get off in the town of Garzón after about 2 hours. Transfer to a bus to La Plata arriving there about 10:00AM. From La Plata take the 10:30AM bus to San Andrés de Pisimbalá arriving 2 or 3 hours later. The reverse trip is the same, leaving at 6:00AM will get you to San Augustín about 1:00PM.
